Matilda brings with her an integrative and holistic approach, using a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness/ Meditative techniques, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Reality Therapy (Choice Theory). Matilda sees clients presenting with a wide range of mental health difficulties from the age of 18 years old and above, including:

  • Grief and loss (including bereavement, palliative care counselling, chronic illnesses, loss of loved one to suicide, loss of a pet/ animal companion, etc)

  • Peri-natal mental health difficulties, particularly peri-natal loss and trauma

  • Pregnancy Support Counselling

  • Adjustment difficulties (including migrant adjustment difficulties)

  • LGBTIQ (e.g. difficulty coping with social discrimination/ acceptance of self)

  • Anxiety disorders 

  • Depression and other mood disorders

  • Stress management (including Acute Stress)

  • Trauma (including PTSD and complex trauma)

  • Inter-generational trauma and family-of-origin issues

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Women’s mental health

Matilda also accepts Clinical Psychology Registrars for clinical supervision.

Matilda does not see clients who present with medico-legal issues, nor does she provide reports for medico-legal purposes. This includes clients who are looking for a psychological evaluation for legal purposes.

Matilda also does not provide reports for individuals seeking to access the Disability Support Pension.
